Done a little ski work before, but will be first winter I can do it when I want, Lots to learn, wish all learning was that good a time. Will keep monitoring site.

Hi Jack, I too have an Aeronca Sedan. I put it on skis 2 years ago and just loved the performance.(I have a 180 hp in it) bur found the weight of the plane too much for easy ground handling by myself, so I hunted for and found a Piper Vagabond. Outstandind as a ski plane, light, easy to handle and a ton of fun!
Our lake has just frozen, so will be a few weeks before I can start. Have a great season!

Aint no way the other half would see clear to 2 planes, so I will have to settle to bulling this one around. Agreed it has a heavy tail. Will have to compromise as it will go on floats when the ice melts. will keep you posted on how it goes.
have 8" ice up here, and 1" snow on top. Think I will try a little wheel work on the ice this weekend. have a good one.

I am very lucky, no hassle when I wanted the second plane.
Where are you located?

Located in Cook Mn.  About 70 mi South of International falls.
Went to go flying this weekend, and my gas cap came up missing. Now i need to find another unvented one. Looks like a call to burl is in order.  Where is muskoka at?

Jack, Muskoka is about 100 miles north of Toronto, on the eastern side of Georgian Bay. Its about 20 miles SE of Parry Sound, home of Bobby Orr! (Your from Minnesota, you must know who Bobby Orr is) If you have a Huron sectional, I live at a place called Torrance, just east of Bala.

P.S. I bought my caps from Aircraft Spruce, less than $10.00 and work great.

Hi Bob and Jack.  I have a Sedan also, SN416.  I am thinking about putting my skis on as we finally have snow.  What skis do you have for your Sedan?  I have a pair of Aero 3000 that will need a field approval.  Jack, where did you have the most trouble with the ground handling part.  I have had some concern about that part, wondering if I could get myself in a situation I can't get out of.  Had a 7GCAA with skis for a few years and it was no problem, but I was younger then.
