New guy in northern Wisconsin

Greetings to all!  My name is Joe Belany and I am new to the list, as well as ski plane ownership.  I bought a 1948 Cessna 140 this summer and negotiated the Federal 1500 skis into the purchase.  Very anxious for some ski flying this winter.  My skis don't have any plastic on them so I will be trying to learn about this topic from the group as well.

Welcome & congrats on the new skiplane! Your welcome to come down to our airport this winter on skis, were about 5 miles west of Trego. Were working on a ski fly-in sometime in early 2011.

Assuming this is Warbirds North?  My dad had the sirstrip at "Alpha Hotel" just to your West....

and...welcome aboard Joe.  Get those skis fitted up!  I offer free ski transition training in the 140 Smiley
